The Telegraph.co.uk have news that Ofcom are to force UK mobile phone operators to speed up the time it takes to switch mobile phone numbers when taking out a deal with another provider. The current system takes up to 5 days, however Ofcom are requiring that operators will "have to transfer customers' phone numbers within two days". Also, "the new system, which Ofcom wants to be in place by September 2009, would also allow phone numbers to be "ported" within hours rather than days".
